How can I withdraw cash safely?

Safety is essential when withdrawing cash. Here are a few simple tips for peace of mind:

  • Always keep your distance and make sure no one is standing too close to you.
  • Shield your PIN when entering it.
  • Do not let yourself be distracted and refuse help from strangers.
  • Always check the amount shown on the screen before confirming.
  • Avoid counting your banknotes too visibly in front of the ATM.
  • If you do not feel comfortable or safe, choose another ATM or come back later.

Why have some of my bank’s ATMs been removed?

The Bancomat network is being optimised to provide better coverage throughout Luxembourg. By 2026, more than 200 sites will be deployed, from major cities to rural areas, providing balanced coverage accessible to everyone.
